Be empowered to reconnect to your whole and complete self so you can be your authentic self

Lucia Cucinotta (Therapist and Founder of LC Counseling) specializes in

grief and loss,

processing and healing from complex trauma,

managing difficult life and/or cross cultural transitions,

managing depression and anxiety symptoms,

low self-esteem and view of self worth,

and intimacy and connection.

Lucia is grounded in a person-centered approach to therapy where existential themes, relational gestalt therapeutic practices, and evidence based mindfulness techniques are incorporated into the therapeutic healing model of exploration, insight, and action.

Lucia believes we are whole and complete, yet the structures and communities we live in might have us feeling like we are lacking, broken, and/or that there is something “wrong” with us. Life can be hard, and it can make us hard. Hard on ourselves, hard on the people we love, and hard on the people we interact with. As we grow and live through the natural stages of life, and the expected and unexpected events that arise, the strategies we consciously or unconsciously developed throughout our life to keep us safe and regulated might no longer be working for us. They might even be causing us distress or dysfunction. Our helpful coping strategies have become unhelpful, and this is where therapy comes in. I’m so glad you’re here.

“Life can only be understood backwards, but it must be lived forwards.” Sören Kierkegaard

Meet Lucia Cucinotta

(she/her/hers)

I am a culturally responsive and LGBTQIA+ affirming mental health and wellness professional with over 10 years’ experience living and working with people from all walks of life. I am curious about how we create meaning in our lives and how that meaning supports us or holds us back in living our fullest and most authentic lives.

I am Licensed Associate Professional Counselor working in Pennsylvania under the guidance of a Licensed Supervisor. I have an M.S.Ed. in School and Mental Health Counseling from the University of Pennsylvania Graduate School of Education (2023) and an M.A. in Education and Human Development from the George Washington University Graduate School of Education and Human Development (2011). I passed the National Counselor Examination (2023) and am working towards the Licensed Professional Counselor licensure in Pennsylvania. I am currently in my first year of the Gestalt Training Institute of Philadelphia’s three year training program. I am a 500 Hour Registered Yoga Teacher with Yoga Alliance and have experiencing teaching yoga, mindfulness, and Ayurvedic self-care practices to individuals and groups in a variety of settings. I served as a Youth and Development Volunteer in Peace Corps Morocco from 2011 to 2013, which were some of the most informative and transformative years of my life.

getting started

Research shows that a strong connection with your therapist is one of the most important predictors of positive outcomes in therapy. For this reason, I offer a complimentary 30 minute consultation so you can make sure that I am a good fit for you, that my specializations and approach meet your needs, and that I can provide you with the appropriate level of care.

The first step is to schedule a complimentary 30 minute consultation with me, and if you decide I am a good fit, we will schedule your first session, agree on a sliding scale rate, and I will send you all the necessary intake forms. In our first therapy session, we will start to explore the physical, mental, and emotional patterns that may be holding you back from making the little shifts that could make a big difference in living your most authentic life.
